How to Be a Conscious Parent
-
The 6 C's
-
Learn about the 6 C's and how integral each one is to a Positive Parenting Approach
First we explore how developing a strong connection with your child is vital to successful parenting. This bond fosters trust, emotional security, and mutual respect, creating an environment where children feel valued and supported. When a child experiences a deep sense of connection with their caregiver, they are more likely to develop self-confidence, resilience, and empathy.
-
The Importance of Compassion
Compassion is a vital element in positive parenting, both for yourself and your child. By extending compassion to yourself, you model self-acceptance and resilience, demonstrating that mistakes and challenges are opportunities for growth rather than sources of shame. This self-compassion fosters patience and balance, allowing you to approach parenting with calm and clarity.
-
Effective Communication
Effective communication is essential in positive parenting because it fosters understanding, trust, and connection between parent and child. When parents actively listen and express themselves clearly and respectfully, children feel heard and valued, promoting emotional security and cooperation.
-
Setting Consequences to Support Learning
Consequences play a crucial role in parenting by teaching children accountability and helping them understand the impact of their choices. Unlike punishments, which often focus on blame or control, consequences are designed to guide learning and encourage better decision-making.
-
Why Consistency is Vital to Successful Parenting
Consistency is vital in parenting because it provides children with a sense of stability, predictability, and security. When parents set clear expectations and follow through reliably, children understand boundaries and learn to trust their environment.

The Positive Parent Coach
Parent Coach and Early Years specialist with over 16 years of experience in education, psychology and child development.
Hi I’m Olivia, The Positive Parent Coach. I'm a Mum of 3 children; aged 7, 5 and 3, so I know first hand how challenging raising a child can be. I started my private coaching practice 6 years ago after leaving an Educational Psychology post working for my local council. As much as I loved supporting children and their families, I knew I could reach more people and have a greater impact by providing coaching support to parents wanting to feel calmer, more connected and confident in the parenting approach they were using.
I’ve had the privilege of supporting hundreds of families to strengthen their relationships, build skills for life and create more harmonious homes.
I've spoken at two global events
Published two scientific papers on attachment and transitions
Been featured in numerous national and international publications sharing how parents can develop a more positive parenting approach.
So you can be reassured you’re in great hands!
