Why Traditional Parenting Advice Often Doesn’t Work

Many parents arrive here feeling confused and frustrated. Not because they haven’t tried hard enough, but because most parenting advice focuses on behaviour alone, or doesn’t walk parents through the skills they need to take that pause before reacting.

When emotions escalate, children aren’t choosing to “misbehave”. Their nervous systems are overwhelmed. And when parents are exhausted, overstimulated or triggered themselves, staying calm can feel impossible.
